Ancient Theatre of Aigeira:
A hillside theatre carved into the rock at ancient Aigeira, with sweeping views over the Corinthian Gulf. It offers a glimpse into the theatrical architecture of the Hellenistic period, set within an idyllic natural landscape.
Archaeological Museum of Aigio:
Housed in a beautiful neoclassical building (formerly the raisin market) in the center of Aigio, the museum showcases antiquities from Aigialia, including Mycenaean pottery, grave offerings, and sculptures from the Hellenistic and Roman periods.
Monastery of Mega Spileo:
Founded in the 4th century AD, this monastery is dramatically built into the mouth of a massive cave on a steep cliff near Kalavryta. One of the oldest monastic institutions in Greece, it safeguards miraculous icons and relics and offers awe-inspiring views over the Vouraikos Gorge.
Chelmos–Vouraikos UNESCO Global Geopark
The Chelmos and Vouraikos area is a true natural treasure, rich in caves, geological formations, and dramatic gorges. Odontotos Rack Railway (Diakopto–Kalavryta)
This historic 22 km mountain railway, unique in Greece, connects the seaside town of Diakopto to mountainous Kalavryta via a cogwheel track. The train journey through the Vouraikos Gorge crosses bridges, tunnels, and waterfalls, offering an unforgettable ride through some of the region’s most striking scenery.
Kalavryta Ski Center
Located on the northern slopes of Mount Chelmos (1,700–2,340 m), this popular winter destination features ski and snowboard runs, a ski school, and a cozy chalet with panoramic views. From December to March, it attracts winter sports enthusiasts from across the country.
Pausanias’ Vine
A legendary wild grapevine stretching over 100 meters and estimated to be 2,000–3,000 years old. Designated as a protected natural monument, it is said to have offered shade and rest to the ancient traveler and geographer Pausanias.
Lake Tsivlou
